Environmentally Conscious Least Cost Multi-Criteria Decision Making for Modeling Railway Network for Eritrea
نویسندگان
چکیده
A proper development of railway transportation is critical for sustainable socio-economic and environmental benefits. Nonetheless, in Eritrea, a country that once had vibrant system, it currently nonfunctional. There are also ambitious sectoral investments neighboring Ethiopia Sudan, pressing Eritrea to revitalize its decimated system. Therefore, this study used population settlement pattern, physical criteria as inputs least-cost multi-criteria decision-making modeling the network Eritrea. Accordingly, seven routes, covering total 1, 610 km distance, were modeled. Four running north-to-south directions, while three east-to-west directions. This will give services 5 out 6 Eritrean’s administrative regions, where 93% estimated 5.8 million people reside. Additionally, service 21 urban centers, an 1,658,749 live; approximately 70% Eritrea’s population. Besides, shall boost regional integration, peace, thereof, otherwise conflict-ravaged geographical region.

Multi-criteria decision making and uncertainty analysis for materials selection in environmentally conscious design
Around the globe, manufacturers are increasingly trying to design products that are as ecological as possible, which is leading to the establishment of new design methods focused on environmentally conscious design (ECD). Materials selection, as a key element in ECD, differs from traditional design by introducing three additional requirements: life cycle viewpoint, consideration on environmenta...
متن کاملINTUITIONISTIC FUZZY DIMENSIONAL ANALYSIS FOR MULTI-CRITERIA DECISION MAKING
Dimensional analysis, for multi-criteria decision making, is a mathematical method that includes diverse heterogeneous criteria into a single dimensionless index. Dimensional Analysis, in its current definition, presents the drawback to manipulate fuzzy information commonly presented in a multi-criteria decision making problem. To overcome such limitation, we propose two dimensional analysis ba...
متن کاملA Bayesian Network Based Framework for Multi-criteria Decision Making
Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) involves the selection of the best actions from a set of alternatives, each of which is evaluated against multiple, and often conflicting, criteria. Most of the existing MCDM methods only focus on decisions under certainty. The criteria were evaluated separately as if they were independent of each other. Complex, often uncertain interactions between criteri...
متن کاملNeural network application for fuzzy multi-criteria decision making problems
In this paper, a fuzzy multi-criteria decision making model is presented based on a feed forward artificial neural network. This model is used to capture and represent the decision makers’ preferences. The topology of the neural network model is developed to train the model. The proposed model can use historical data and update the database information for alternatives over time for future deci...
متن کاملmulti-criteria decision-based model for road network process
this paper addresses a multi-criteria decision based methodology to develop a road network cost function for route finding analysis in a geographic information system (gis). over the years, several studies relating to route planning process in gis and intelligent transportation systems (its) have been conducted, most of which rely on the use of one-dimensional variables like distance or time as...
